Preserving Your Family’s Immigration Journey, From Screen to Personal Stories
Filmmaker Walter Schlomann discusses the art of capturing your own family’s history.
Please join us along with the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Miami as we engage in a three-part series that brings the immigrant experience to life through film, storytelling, and personal connections.
We begin with a special screening of an award-winning film that follows Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe as they make their brave journey to America in 1896. This touching narrative mirrors countless family histories and sets the stage for our exploration of immigration stories.
A week later, accomplished filmmaker Walter Schlomann will guide you through the art of capturing your own family’s history on video.
But that’s not all – this journey becomes personal as you join discussion groups where you can share your own family’s immigration story. Connect with others, discover shared experiences, and preserve the precious memories that have shaped who you are today.
