Socol Speaker Series presents: A Conversation with Jonathan Schanzer

One Year Later: What’s Next for Israel?

We invite you to a special evening with Jonathan Schanzer, Senior Vice President for Research at The Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a nonpartisan research institute focusing on national security and foreign policy.

Jonathan previously worked as a terrorism finance analyst at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he followed and froze the funding of Hamas and Al-Qaeda. Jonathan has held previous tank research positions at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and the Middle East Forum. He has written hundred of articles on the Middle East and U.S national security. A prolific author, his most recent book is Gaza Conflict 2021: Hamas, Israel and Eleven Days of War (FDD Press 2021)

Since October 7, 2023, FDD has executed an all-hands-on-deck operation with research, strategic communications, and government relations working shoulder-to-shoulder to educate U.S. policymakers about the need to defend against Iran and its terrorist proxies, while supporting Israel and our other regional allies to defend U.S national security. Join us to hear more about their important work as we reflect on the current state of the conflict in the Middle East.
