Rock The Vote for Shabbat
As the World Zionist Congress prepares for its upcoming vote,
we invite you to a special Shabbat to learn more about the role of WZC and its impact on religious plurism, democracy and more in Israel.
We welcome special guest speaker Rabbi Stuart Weinblatt, former Beth Am rabbi and current Chairman of the Zionist Rabbinic Coalition to offer a special sermon as he asks:
“Can We Ever Recapture Jewish Unity?”
Rabbi Stuart Weinblatt began his rabbinic career at Beth Am, where he served his first pulpit position as Associate Rabbi with Rabbi Baumgard from 1979 – 1981.
After serving at Beth Am, he was the rabbi in Bowie, Maryland for seven years, before starting a new congregation in Potomac, Maryland in 1988. That synagogue in suburban Washington, DC area, has now grown to almost 600 families. Rabbi Weinblatt recently retired from this position and is now their Rabbi Emeritus
Rabbi Weinblatt has been very involved on the local and national level in many endeavors supportive of Israel.
