2022 — Sharón Levi
Mazel Tov to Sharón Levi, recipient of The Robert Hersh Professional Excellence Award, presented at the Congregational Annual Meeting on May 22, 2022.
In making the award presentation, Richard Siegel, Executive Vice President of Temple Beth Am, said: “This wasn’t the easiest year we’ve ever had but certainly a very successful year. Someone really stepped up and distinguished himself as a true leader of our staff, a leader of our community, who keeps things operating in a very efficient and well-oiled manner. But most of all, I think is lost on no one here, he keeps us and our children safe.”
Sharón was recognized for his role in reshaping the Temple Beth Am campus during the two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, working to implement innovative ways to keep our congregants, children and staff safe and healthy.
Sharón came to the Beth Am community in 2004, serving first as our Director of Security. In 2016, he added Logistics to his portfolio. In April 2022, he was named Senior Director, Operations & Security.
A native of Nez-Zion in Israel, Sharón is a veteran of the Israel Defense Forces. He and his wife, Lilly, have two children: their son, Ely, is a graduate of Rambam Day School, and daughter, Mia, will enter the fifth grade at Rambam this fall.
The award was created in 2019 to honor Robert Hersh, in recognition of his consistent pursuit of excellence over 15 years as Executive Director of Temple Beth Am (2004–2019).
