2012–13 — David Deutch, Dan Koffsky
Congratulations to David Deutch (left) and Dan Koffsky, 2012–13 recipients of The Harry Gunther Service Award, which is presented to a deserving Beth Am member who has worked for the benefit of the Temple community in a way which would be considered “above and beyond.” The award was presented at the Temple Beth Am Annual Meeting on April 30, 2013.
David and Dan were recognized for their extraordinary service as Co-Commissioners of the Temple Beth Am Basketball League from 2008–2012.
In addition to leading the league for four years, David has spent countless years coaching his children, Jennifer and Matthew, on their respective teams. Dan also has spent many years coaching his children at Beth Am Basketball: Jacob, Andrew and Emily.
This is Dan’s second Harry Gunther Award, having been named a recipient in 2003–04 for his service as Co-Chair of the Beth Am Building Committee, which oversaw construction of the new campus.
This award is named for Harry Gunther, a wonderful man who made Temple Beth Am a high priority in his life. His widow, Ethelle, remained an active member of the Temple Beth Am family for nearly 60 years until her death in 2013.
