2010–11 — Lawrence S. Forman
Congratulations to Lawrence S. Forman, 2010–11 recipient of The Harry Gunther Service Award, which is presented to a deserving Beth Am member who has worked for the benefit of the Temple community in a way which would be considered “above and beyond.”
The award was presented at the Shabbat service on April 22, 2011 in advance of the Temple’s Annual Meeting. In his presentation remarks, Temple President Richard Hoffman noted that, “His judgment, his guidance and his support of this institution has been really remarkable, and he is extremely deservng of this award.”
Larry has served on the Temple Beth Am Executive Board for more than eight years, and has been a member of the Board of Directors for more than a decade. He most recently was Vice President for Day School, and now becomes Vice President of Administration. He also received the Harry Gunther Service Award for 2002.
This award is named for Harry Gunther, a wonderful man who made Temple Beth Am a high priority in his life. His widow, Ethelle, remained an active member of the Temple Beth Am family for nearly 60 years until her death in 2013.
